ADDP will host a training which will give attendees a general overview and more detailed insights into Autism without ID, and related autism profiles.
Why Attend?
While everyone on the autism spectrum is a unique individual, hallmarks of the conditions will be discussed, as will variations in presentation. Special attention will be paid to vulnerabilities in the areas of executive functioning, anxiety, communication and sensory issues as well as co-occurring mental health conditions. Use of strengths to compensate for challenges will be addressed. Best practices for communicating with participants with this profile will be discussed.
This workshop is suggested for professionals who have not attended a similar workshop by AANE on a general overview, and are working with the population of adults with autism without intellectual disability. This presentation is strongly recommended to those who plan to attend the upcoming AANE workshops this fall.
This presentation will be provided by Jamie Freed of AANE, along with speakers giving first-person accounts.
Intended Audience includes the following: managers, administrators, and direct support professionals.
