Understanding Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation as it Overlaps with Autism: A Strengths Based Approach

Why Attend?

An overlap exists between autism and variance in gender and sexual orientation. In this workshop, an overview of vocabulary related to gender and sexual orientation including a range of gender identity and expression will be presented. A discussion of how variance in gender and sexual orientation overlaps with persons with autism and/or neurodivergence will be explored.

First person accounts of those with lived experience on two or more of these spectra will bring these concepts to life. The evolution of a parent to a young adult in this intersection will be included.

Intended Audience includes the following: Managers, Administrators and Direct Support Professionals.
