Understanding the employment landscape for those on the Autism spectrum.

Why Attend?

The employment landscape for persons with autism is abysmal with close to 90% of diagnosed adults either unemployed or underemployed. With the depth of skills, abilities and talents that persons with autism have to offer, why is this the case and what can be done about it? In this workshop, we will review why obtaining and maintaining employment is such a challenge for persons with autism, discuss the value of an employee with autism, disclosure and explore creative strategies and innovative approaches to address and mitigate these employment challenges.

First person accounts of employment challenges and successes will be shared along with several case studies to enhance learning opportunities.

Intended Audience includes the following: Managers, Administrators and Direct Support Professionals.

REGISTRATION STARTS AT 9:00 A.M

Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
